Pet Project 2020 Gewürztraminer Piquette
Tasting Notes
Ever walk inside of a Bath & Body Works and just get sensorily wrecked with overwhelming aromas you didn’t ask for? Furthermore, it’s virtually impossible to pick anything out at what’s essentially The Cheesecake Factory of shower gel when every ridiculous confectionary flavor under the sun is suddenly (and hauntingly) under your nostrils at the same time. And among the coconut colada and warm vanilla sugar chaos it’s all too easy to forget about the old reliable: trusty cucumber melon. That’s right - one of B&BW’s OG star players. Where was I going with this? Oh, yeah. This zesty gewürztraminer piquette from Washington’s Pet Project captures all of the pickle-y, sweet, floral essence of literally anything cucumber melon-flavored. With an extra little nudge of orange blossom water, mango marzipan, and peach nectar, just honestly jab a crazy straw in this petite 350 ml bottle of liquified lychee fizz and have yourself a picnic.
Pair With:
Bánh mì would hit the spot here for sure - grab a grilled pork (or marinated tofu) sandwich slathered in salty mayo and filled with carrot/daikon pickle shreds and crunchy cukes on a freshly-baked baguette for a good time. Side of fried imperial rolls? Yes.
Funk-o-Meter
If gewürztraminer was a song, this hazed-up piquette would be a remix by The Knocks.
