Pet Project 2020 Chenin Blanc Pét Nat
Tasting Notes
Sometimes, you can see a good wine-and-cheese sparkler coming like a kinda-sexist Friends plotline, or “Fix You” being performed at a collegiate a cappella concert. Enter Pet Project’s Chenin Blanc pét-nat, which was undoubtedly born into this solar system to complement aged cubes of cultured dairy and cured-and-sliced meat sticks. Everyone has a purpose, and fermented grape juice is no exception. The bubble-foam supply here is more outta control than that of a cheerleader-operated car wash fundraiser, with plenty of crusty sourdough toastiness and an absolute surplus of piquant-AF pear curd cut with hella lime leaves. I’d go to town on this phenomenal fizz any season of the year - as long as a godzilla-sized assortment of charcuterie is also equally as available to me.
Pair With:
Really any snack you’d chow down on for an aperitivo hour, but it’s practically begging you to serve it with a hunk of Trader Joe’s Unexpected Cheddar and Simple Mills black pepper crackers. Good gravy, don’t make it beg.
