Tasting Notes

Le Pet Nat D’Eric is a fantastic replacement for Champagne when you’re celebrating someone else and you’re kind of jealous of their success so you really sort of want to stealthily shift the spotlight over to you in a way that’s not blatantly obvious. By all means, steal that thunder by popping the top on this superb vessel of party bubbles. If you’ve ever wondered what it would taste like to squeeze a funked-up lemon wedge on a bouquet of white blossoms and then drag them through a mound of ciabatta breadcrumbs before shoving the whole bundle in your mouth, well, wonder no longer, citizens. Citrusy, biscuit-y, floral, and just a little sour - it’s all you need to convince loved ones to quit fawning over the guests of honor (we understand, they’re engaged) and pay attention to you instead, despite any lack of accomplishments or social faux pas that have led you to this day.

Pair With:

Seething jealousy masked by your best toothy smile and a resounding “SO happy for you.” (yes girl, work that BFA in Musical Theater!) as well as some goat gouda alongside rosemary crackers, finocchiona salami, and fig jam - all celebratory snack pals that get along nicely with tart bubbles at the playground. And if you’re having this with dinner, I’d do a white pizza with prosciutto and arugula, or a seared piece of fish with a plop of mashed potatoes and something green for health.

Funk-o-Meter

If you are a Champagne freak but feel like dealing with a prosecco budget, this one’s enough to satisfy a serious Brut craving while still prescribing a dose of funk to make things interesting.
