Tasting Notes

Whatever genius came up with “Rosé All Day'' was hopefully referring to Day Wines Lemonade. It’s under-ripe strawberries, it’s grapefruit, it’s a fuchsia watermelon slice with a few flicks of salty ocean splashed on top. Quite frankly, it’s more well-rounded than a hot dog rotating with flawless grace on a 7-11 heat roller. And at first, I kept slugging down this suspiciously easy-to-down flamingo-pink drink while trying to figure out where the heck all the lemonade flavor is hiding. I couldn’t. Here’s the record-scratch moment: this bottle’s name is a “when life gives you lemons” metaphor. Bingo. The winemakers were going to whip up a red from this batch of grapes, but when the smoke from 2020 wildfires threatened the quality of the skins, they ripped that charcoal-y sh*t off and a rosé was born instead. Eureka. Sometimes, you have to make proverbial lemonade, and what a f*cking delicious one this is. However, climate change still blows.

Nothing but uninterrupted listening to “Perfect Day” by Hoku on loop - because tomorrow’s gonna come too soon. So in the meantime, drink good wine.

Funk-o-Meter

This one’s totally sans funk. Just pure, pithy grapefruit minerality that has Provence’s entire supply of Pool Boy shaking in their stupid shatterproof plastic bottles.
