Ovum Wines 2019 Old Love
Tasting Notes
Ovum is really, really good at naming wine. Case in point: their Big Salt sips like a mouthful of briny sea water. And while they could have called this one Green Vegetable Garden Party, alas, here we are. Old Love has this nostalgic, flirty, herby caress of citrus (made you blush), and it belongs with summer food like a stingy cat belongs with a stripe-stained sunglare on the kitchen floor. A glass of this crisp white blend is dry, but thirst-quenching at the same time, without even so much as a fleck of funk - lemony raw snap peas in liquid form.
Pair With:
That stupid TikTok pasta. You know the one, with baked feta, basil, and burst cherry tomatoes - the wine’s mellow acid cuts through the creamy tang of the cheese and monopolizes on its freshness, too. Or, marinated grilled chicken tacos with some kind of bell pepper mango salsa and the crunched crumbs at the bottom of a tortilla chip bag. Or, honestly, just glugged out of a mason jar while dunking your ankles in an inflatable kiddie pool.
Funk-o-Meter
Much like Taylor Swift’s entire discography, not even a hint of it.
