Tasting Notes

It is eerily coincidental that the label on this fizz looks like a sleep paralysis demon incarnation of the Trix Rabbit, because Wildman Wines’ Astro Bunny Pét-Nat has all the tropical tang of watermelon yogurt. But unlike cotton candy-swirled sugar pudding marketed as a healthy cultured snack or bowls of fruit-shaped cavity kickstarters, this wine (edit: any wine) is definitely not for kids. Loaded with summertime Trolli Peachie-O spunk and a little jolt of grapefruit-zested lightning, it’s practically pleading with you to have it chilled in plastic cups at a park potluck. And how could you say no to that terrifying fanged face? I honestly wouldn’t.

Pair With:

Hawaiian plate lunch on a picnic blanket - something like kalua pork, charred huli-huli chicken, or loco moco. And don’t forget the mayo-y mac salad and spam musubi.

Funk-o-Meter

Nothing too intense - just a lot of fruity bubbles with a twinge of yeasty tartness.
