Roots Wine Co. Lora 2019 Sauvignon Blanc Piquette
Tasting Notes
I’d like to introduce you to what I’m lovingly calling “Hiking Water.” And I know what you’re thinking. Shouldn’t I really be endorsing...actual water for strenuous outdoor physical activity? Nutritionally speaking, yes. Please do haul some of that sweet, sweet H2O with you on any type of nature-rific romp. Hydration is key. But this can of flat Sprite disguised as Sauvignon Blanc is the not-stereotypically-grassy, lemon-lime zing you need to crack open at the top of a cliff, as you stand there, a gatekeeper to the wind, with nary a care in the world about your blisters and pit stains. When you have all the fruit-and-nuts flavor of plump golden raisins and raw hazelnuts in a cylinder of aluminum, it does a way better job providing post-hike satisfaction than a limp Ziploc baggie of trail mix ever could. Get your plain-ass water out of my sight.
Pair With:
Something decadent, casual, and seafood-based that just hits right after getting greasy on a shade-flanked mountain - like mayo-y lobster rolls studded with celery seeds, old bay-dusted crab cakes, or a gargantuan basket of pub-style fish and chips. Who knows where your perspiration ends and fryer oil begins?
Funk-o-Meter
If you truly brought this on a hiking trip, the scent of your failing eco-friendly deodorant blended with freshly-expelled sweat would be way more funkier than whatever’s in this can.
