Tasting Notes

A bottle of vino always comes in the clutch for a housewarming gift or random impromptu birthday thing when you can’t figure out what else to bring - but get it together. You can do so much better than grabbing a dusty Little Roo Shiraz from the supermarket clearance section. My advice: always have a Glou Glou from Las Jaras on hand ready to go. You need a reliably smoky-but-not-oaky, berry jam-a-rific, chillable red perfect for anything from a night by the fireplace with a stack of magazines to a great slurpable dinner party choice to keep everyone’s glasses refilled all evening? Pick this one now and thank me later. And if anything else, try this because it’s from Eric Wareheim’s winery.

Pair With:

Any kicky tomato pasta will be the bee’s knees here. Things like spaghetti all’amatriciana with peppercorn-studded guanciale, or fusilli tossed in spicy vodka sauce (try this recipe from Jon & Vinny’s in LA). And oh my god, don’t you dare forget a buttery loaf of garlic bread on the side. Sorry if you’re planning to smooch or entertain some vampires.

Funk-o-Meter

No real noticeable funkies - just an easy, breezy, cool red to drink on loop for the rest of your life.
