Tasting Notes
Borachio 2019 Fruit Zone Chardonnay Pét-Nat
Tasting Notes
Vinegar-y and refreshing as all get out, pour this chardonnay pét-nat over ice and you might completely mistake it for a shrub cocktail, busting at the seams with lilikoi, pineapple, and pink starbursts. To be honest, that’s how Chardonnay probably should be - I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to feel like I’m eating grape-scented movie theater popcorn inside of a newly-constructed treehouse. There, I said it. But Fruit Zone is a great zone to be in, in terms of zones. It’s bubbly, it’s passionfruit-y, and it doesn’t menacingly grab you by the collar with tart tang. Instead, it lovingly pats you on the head with it before whisking you away to the diner for disco fries and a chocolate malt with two bendy straws. Aw. It’s a superb fizzy drink to have on its own, or with a smörgåsbord of apps.
Pair With:
One of those little parties where you might be grazing on a bunch of random sh*t like goat cheese-stuffed dates followed by a single raw bell pepper slice submerged in ranch followed by a semi-burnt peanut butter cookie followed by a mozzarella stick followed by Gardetto’s rye chips. Welcome to the Fruit Zone.
Funk-o-Meter
There’s enough funk in the mix to cause you to question whether this is wine or freshly-bottled shrub.
