Tasting Notes
Wild Arc Farm 2019 Cabernet Franc Piquette
Tasting Notes
Wild Arc Farm in New York makes hands down the best piquette (a.k.a. water mixed with mushed-up leftover grape pulp to produce wine) in the game. With the whole bottle ringing in at the same ABV as a can of strong beer, this is the type of cooler you could sip all day and never get messy-minded. There’s this neat little cranberry-pomegranate popsicle-y business going on, but what prevents it all from tasting like a Kool-Aid Jammer in disguise is toasty vanilla bean macadamia swag, giving each slurp some backbone without too much oakiness. Just lots of good stuff, and none of the bad - like all Stars Wars films produced before 1985.
Pair With:
A serious burger. Not so much a double-smash patty situation slapped with a floppy Kraft single, but rather, a plump, hefty, pink-in-the-middle stunner slathered with aioli and caramelized onion and aged white cheddar and hydroponic micro arugula on a bakery bun. Or, you know, something like that.
Funk-o-Meter
Every other sip drinks like a wheat-y raspberry ale - so it brings some funk, and we are here for it.
