Tasting Notes

A completely-enigmatic, yet immensely guzzle-worthy orange wine to lure into your life and never let go - if you’ve ever befriended someone who owns a boat simply because they own a boat, you know exactly what I mean. Alas, you’ll also want to remain pals with Unico Zelo’s Esoterico. This Dayquil-looking potion has so many flavors vying for your attention at the same time, it kind of feels like getting accosted by character actors in Times Square. (Elmo, kindly get the f*ck away from me). But in this case, we appreciate it. It's a dense sour cream old-fashioned donut coated with tangelo-spiked powdered sugar glaze. It’s sliced kumquats shaken with a dash of white pepper for spice. It’s a pint glass of Sunny D smashed between rounds of Quack Diddly Oso while sitting crisscross-applesauce in a wildflower-littered field. The quintessential marriage of tart funk and fresh florals, bottled and corked for your consumption. You want to impress the pants off of someone (figuratively or literally) with some unironically-obscure amber wine that they’ll never forget? Yeah, this is your ticket in.

Pair With:

Kimchi fried rice with nutty sesame-marinated bulgogi and grassy grilled scallions or smoky cedar plank salmon with mango-avocado salsa. Or, shared with that friend who owns a boat, so that they don’t suspect you’re only friends with them because they own a boat.

Funk-o-Meter

Imagine the acidic tang of crème fraîche gelato folded in with sticky citrus pound cake. It just makes sense.
